OBMTA: Owerri Timber Traders Inaugurate Newly Elected Exco In Owerri.

 

 

It was a celebration galore at the  Timber Market Naze, Owerri  North LGA,Imo state  as Newly elected executives of Owerri Building Materials and Traders Association,OBMTA were inaugurated  to run the Association’s   affairs for the next three years.

Addressing the members  after its inauguration, the new President,Okonkwo Anthony said that he is going to run an inclusive government where everybody will be carried along irrespective of the camp he  belonged.

He emphasised that the unity and progress of the association is paramount before any other interest.

Okonkwo reaffirmed his earlier  commitment to the peace and progress of the association, including   success of members . The Exco ,he maintained would always work in tandem with the entire Executive to add more value to the union’s cause and welfare.

“I will not disappoint OBMTA, ISAMATA, Ministry of Trade and Commerce, Imo State Government and the entire society. I will unite all aggrieved persons in OBMTA and ensure that all hands are on deck to move the union  forward.

Hence, I need your prayers. We will do our best as we work in line with State Government’s policies and activities to advance the society more positively”, he stated.

Thanking the  Electoral Committee and ISAMATA for the conduct of free and fair election, OBMTA Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Chioma Uchegbu, expressed happiness that women were given opportunity  to be part of the leadership of the association, saying she will not fail to be loyal, as well as add impetus to the success of the association.

Performing the Oath of Office,  President of ISAMATA, Comrade Emmanuel Ezeanochie, charged the Executive members to discharge their assigned duties creditably even with clean conscience and human face to move on.

“You should discard animosity, bitterness and hatred as you lead OBMTA. Carry both losers and winners along. Do not give room for the  opposition. Do not usurp power. Keep good records as you serve the masses well. Show love and support one another to grow in business”, Ezeanochie maintained.

The OBMTA new  Executive members are as follows: Comrade Tony Okonkwo (President), Deacon Joe Anyanwu (Vice President), Osigwe Stephen (General Secretary), Mrs. Chioma Uchegbu (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Saviour Esemonu (Fin Secretary), Mrs. Ogueri Leona (Treasurer), Mr. Diaku Oluchi Marcellinus (Public Relations Officer) Secretary) and Mr. Anyanwu Chibueze (Provost)

They  were issued Certificate of Return by ISAMATA , individually.

The event took place at the  Ministry of Trade and Investment, State Secretariat, Owerri while members, friends and well wishers of the association witnessed the event.
